The Greatest Wealth is your Health

health is wealth

What is health? To me, health is the absence of dis-ease, illness, injury, pain, inflammation, weakness, anger, fear, or worry. True health is waking up and feeling happy, energetic, full of gratitude, and most importantly, love. If you are not attuned to the vibration of love, then you cannot experience your full potential. True health is our God-given birthright. We all deserve to be healthy and thriving not only physically but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Follow the recommendations below to make sure you are living a healthy life.

nutrition

Focus your diet on fresh, whole foods grown from the Earth: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, alkaline whole grains, sprouted legumes, and seaweeds. Cut out or limit your intake of high fat animal products as much as you can. Learn more about the health benefits of a vegan diet. Choose fresh, ripe, whole, organic, non-GMO foods and do your very best to support your local farmer’s market. Grow a garden and pick fresh herbs. It’s ok if you can’t follow all of these guidelines perfectly, just do your best and give yourself credit for trying. Drink plenty of purified water, at least 2 liters minimum a day and 3 to 4 liters the more you exercise and sweat. If you need help with any specific diet or nutrition goals, feel free to contact me for a health and nutritional assessment.

physical activity

Always move your body everyday and get a minimum of 30-45 minutes of exercise each day to get your lymphatic system pumping. Sweating is always a plus too! You want to aim for both aerobic and anaerobic activities throughout the week. Aerobic exercises include running, walking, hiking, cycling, and swimming and anaerobic exercises include lifting weights, resistance bands, and body weight exercises. If you don’t keep moving your body, then you you may become slower, weaker, and stagnant. Like they always say, move it, or lose it!

stress reduction

Being able to reduce and control stress will help you live a long and healthy life. You will be able to control your emotions and heal much quicker when you have mastery over your thoughts and emotions. Try to implement meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, gratitude lists, and visualization into your morning and/or night time routine. Sleep is the most beneficial stress reducing activity of all so be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night; more if you feel more stressed. Rest is the body’s way of repairing itself. If you’re having trouble relaxing or letting go of fear or worry, try some of my affirmations.

social connections

Spending time with family and friends is extremely important for a healthy life. Healthy relationships are crucial for emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. Surround yourself with people who uplift and motivate you in a positive way. Unhealthy relationships that are mentally, physically, or emotionally abusive may cause unwanted stress in your life and can leave you vulnerable to illness. Cut these people out of your life and make room for those who know how to love you correctly and you will become much happier and, in turn, healthier.

mental health

Your mental health is defined as your state of well being, emotionally, psychologically, and socially. Taking care of yourself by following the above recommendations will automatically help to improve your mental health function which may help you to realize your full potential, cope with stress, help with work productively, increase creativity, and make meaningful contributions to your community. The healthier you are, the easier it will be to manifest whatever it is that you truly want out of your life. If you feel unbalanced in any of these areas, please reach out to me and we can work on getting you back to balance together.
