Keep it raw and real with yourself and the world. So many of us are hiding behind a mask trying so hard to be perfect, trying so hard to be liked and accepted by others when we don't even like or accept ourselves. Life will eventually become exhausting when you create an "image" of yourself online and then work day and night to try and keep up with it especially if you are addicted to the validation. This is no one else's fault but yours. Stop comparing yourself to people online who you will never meet in real life. You are comparing yourself to someone who's full time job is to make you think they have their life together. Newsflash: they don't! No one does no matter how good they are at marketing their life to you.

Social media is not even real. Pictures, videos and captions are not a proper representation of someone's life even if they have an inspiring message to tell. Remember, people don't share their struggles, they tend to share their highlights and accomplishments and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s up to you to not make assumptions about a person by what they choose to post. People are good at hiding and end up hiding their entire lives.

I am here to remind you that it's ok to have a bad day, week, month or even year. It's ok to be angry or upset about something. It's ok to disagree with someone. It's ok to not do what everyone else is doing. It's ok to make mistakes (just own up to them). It's ok to take off your mask. Please, take it off. You will set yourself free and will inspire others to do the same. By keeping your mask on, you encourage others to keep their's on as well and contribute to the same repetitive cycle of faking perfection instead of just BEing YOUrself.

How much are you worth? 

We introduce ourselves before even opening up our own mouths. Many of us think we can hide things from others but when someone is sensitive to the emotions or “energies” of others, they will easily be able to pick up on any inconsistencies. We forget that everything is energy and we are not just our physical body but the “force” behind it. This “force” is not only responsible for your body’s processes but most importantly, your thoughts. The thoughts you think will ultimately determine the life you live. When you pay attention to something, you are essentially “buying” into an experience so be very careful with what you consume not only through food or drink but what holds your attention. What you place your attention (or energy) on is ultimately an investment in your future so be sure you choose carefully what is worth a good return. Treat your time (energy) with as much care as you would your finances or loved ones. It is your most valuable asset.

Stop complaining

YOU'VE GOT IT MADE!

Did you know that nearly 1/2 of the world’s population (more than 3 billion people) live on less than $2.50 a day and more than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty on less than $1.25 a day? I know there's a lot of us out there struggling right now with physical issues, mental disorders, relationship problems and maybe even money troubles... but if you’re reading this message on a smartphone or even a computer, then you are one of the lucky ones on earth! At this very moment, there are billions of people who would literally kill to be in your situation. People are walking marathons a day just to to be able to water and who really knows if its clean, uncontaminated, drinkable water. They would love to have your problems. We need to remember these people who live in dire situations and we need to do everything we can to help them before we complain that Starbucks got our drink order wrong.

Watching this documentary of three friends who chose to live on $1 dollar a day for 56 days in Guatemala drastically changed my perspective when it comes to what I have. This actually inspired me to live more minimally and in a tiny home. Its people like these guys who help give us perspective with how the rest of the world is living.

Living and working in southern California, I find myself at times surrounded by very wealthy people. Heck, compared to the majority of the world population, I'm wealthy! My point is that most of us do not realize how good we actually have it. We tend to forget how amazing this world is and how lucky we are to be alive at this very given moment, yet we’re on our smart phones judging away at each other and complaining about first world problems that the majority of the world would love to have.

SIGNS YOU’RE DOING WELL IN LIFE

  • You’re breathing

  • You have a roof over your head

  • You have clean water to drink

  • You have nutritious food to eat

  • You are wearing clothes

  • You care about others

So catch yourself the next time you complain or feel depressed about your problems or life. If we put all of our problems into a great big pile with others, I guarantee you’ll grab yours back. Think about how billions of other people are living on earth. Was it their fault for being born into such oppression? I feel that when we gain perspective of the world around us is when we realize how good we actually have it. So it’s time to stop complaining and start appreciating everything about your life. You have it far better than you realize.

How to heal? Take your health into your own hands! Don't leave it up to anyone else, it's not their responsibility. Like the wonderful Louise Hay said, "You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that. We think so often that we are helpless, but we're not. We always have the power of our minds… Claim and consciously use your power." You can heal and you will heal when you continue to make healthy choices with your thoughts and your actions.

People may not always tell you how they feel about you, but they will always show you through their actions. Pay little attention to what people say but closer attention to how they treat you. Learn to trust your intuition and the "vibes" you receive from others. Everything is energy in our world so focus on how you feel when you are around others. This will tell you everything you need to know.

Not everyone you love is meant to be the person you build a life with. This can be a hard pill to swallow for some. Just because you feel a strong, powerful connection with someone, doesn’t mean it’s a healthy, fulfilling relationship. Most connections today are built on fear. The fear of being rejected, the fear of being unloved, the fear of losing someone or the fear of committing to only one person for the rest of your life. It is only when we let go of fear we can love. Love cannot fear because love is the most powerful force in the world.

Progress over perfection

Keep on moving

You only fail when you stop trying so why not stick around and see what happens when you keep going? If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. If you can’t crawl, then ask for help. People love helping others especially when they see people trying. Don’t stay stuck in the same place. Keep making decisions, even if the decision is wrong. Regardless of the circumstance, you need to keep on moving my friend. You've got this!

It's easier to build wellness than to treat disease so shift your focus to the preventative side which of course includes healthy eating. The food you eat can and the drinks you consume can either promote healing you or slowly poison your body into dis-ease. There are only two sides of chemistry when it comes to the body: acid and alkaline. Choose the alkaline, healing side of chemistry. Like Hippocrates said, "Let medicine be thy food and food thy medicine."

 

PLANT BASED WHOLE FOOD

A plant based whole food diet is one of the best diets to follow and is the only diet that has been shown to halt and reverse life threatening conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. Vegetarians and vegan populations have much lower rates of heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity compared to populations who include animal proteins. Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn says that "some people think plant-based diet, whole foods diet is extreme. Half a million people a year will have their chests opened up and a vein taken from their leg and sewn onto their coronary artery. Some people would call that extreme." 

 

RAW LIVING FOOD

ASK FOR HELP

Changing your diet can seem overwhelming at times there is so much conflicting evidence out there. I say, only take advice from those who you truly resonate with and who you want to live like. Don’t take advice from someone you don’t admire or respect just because they are successful or have six pack abs. Follow those who are transparent with their lifestyle and who have shown consistent results over time. I am always here for

Jack Kornfield said it best, “Have respect for yourself, and patience and compassion. With these, you can handle anything.” Think about it, if you don't love yourself properly, how can you properly love another human being? The most important relationship we will ever have is with ourselves. It’s wonderful to selflessly serve others, but when it comes at the expensive of self care or true happiness, then the work may be incomplete. We can achieve a peaceful world when each and everyone of us cultivates true compassion within our own hearts.

  • Stop criticizing yourself: You are doing the best you can, self criticism doesn't help. You can find plenty of people out in the world to criticize you, don't be one of them.

  • Remember, we are all in this together!

SPREAD THE LOVE

When you smile you start to feel better immediately. When you help someone else smile, the power of the smile intensifies and then smiling becomes even more contagious. Scientists have found that smiling on purpose can help people feel better. Just the simple act of putting a smile on your face can lead you to feel actual happiness, joy, or amusement. Smiling on purpose changes brain chemistry. Even when you don't feel like smiling, try it out! You'll notice something happen, you start to get happy.

Benefits of smiling include:

  • Mood lifter

  • Lowered blood pressure

  • Stress relief

  • Improved relationships

  • Pain relief

  • Stronger immune function

  • Longer life

Let it be

DON'T PICK AT YOUR WOUNDS

We all are walking around with unhealed emotional wounds so please be gentle with yourself and others. People don't always show or say when they're in pain. We've been conditioned to desensitize ourselves and be strong on the outside while many of us are hurting on the inside. We need to be ok with not being ok. If you are coming from a place of pain, whether physically or emotionally, you need to stop touching your wounds. Give your body the opportunity to properly heal. There always comes a time when we need to take off the band aid and let our wound breathe and get sunshine. Let it scab over and fall off naturally even when you want to pick it off, it will only take longer to heal. Stop revisiting the pain in your thoughts and in your heart and let it go. If you cannot let it go then just let it be. The more we think about something, the more power we give it. Don't give your power away. You can heal your life. Claim your power and start the healing process.

don't take anything personally

Like Don Miguel Ruiz says, " Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally… Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind; they are in a completely different world from the one we live in. When we take something personally, we make the assumption that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world." This is one of my favorite books of all time, The Four Agreements. If you haven't read it, get it! What you think about yourself will ALWAYS be more important than what others think since these people do not live your life or truly know your heart. There's a reason why there are celebrities and millionares who are insecure and unhappy. No matter how many people love you, if you don't love or approve of yourself then you will never be happy. When you take the time to work on yourself and finally accept the wonderful and unique being you are, you will finally find true happiness within!

Stop for a moment and take a look at the world around you. Notice what you see. Forget about how you think it should look and just be present. Isn't it beautiful? Remember, beauty isn't about having certain atheistics or qualities, it's about being yourself! No one is like you. No two snowflakes are even the same. Each have unique characteristics that are literally 1 in 1 trillion. Whether you see it or not, you are beautiful so why not look for the beauty in everything you see?

Focus

The more you think about something, the more power you give it and more power it will have over your life. What you focus on WILL command your energy – your emotional energy, your thinking energy and your physical energy.  You may not always be conscious of it so just be aware of this universal truth. Everything you have now you once thought up in your mind. Whether its a job, a partner, an item of clothing or a piece of jewelry, you once thought about it, attracted it into your life and ultimately received it. Now the same goes for your thoughts of negativity and fear. The more you think about what you don’t want to happen including your fear of the unknown, the more it will take control over your life and the more it may show up in your life. Imagine if each and everyone of us nurtured each other to help us grow into our greatest self? How amazing our world would be!

People are inspired with how others deal with their challenges and imperfections. Being yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment and we need you to be you.

gratitude changes your ATTITUDE

Gratitude affects your attitude and your attitude determines your altitude. When you wake up in the morning, say thank you for everything that is currently in your life. Be thankful that you have a roof over your head, food to eat, clothes to wear and water to drink. Start with the basics. There are millions of people in the world who would love to be in your situation. There are over three billion people who live on less than $2.50 a day and at least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. You once prayed for everything you have now so take perspective not be grateful for it? Gratitude opens the channels for even greater abundance!
